Dear Members
The HCMC committee have had to make the difficult decision to cancel our Round # 3 Club Championship race meeting at Wanneroo race track on the 14th of May.
We were informed by the Sporting Car Club on Thursday morning that due to changes in their lease agreement with the Wanneroo shire (just implemented) we require a higher level of public liability insurance which MA do not currently provide for our club.
This situation is out of our control and we have been advised by MWA it is not likely to be resolved in the short term. We do not have any other further information.
We have been forced to cancel the event in the best interest of our members, Officials, volunteers and service providers. To delay and hope for the situation to change last minute before our event is due, is considered to be unwise. A refund of entry fee (minus compulsory bank handling fees) will be sent to all entrants via Ridernet.
The officials within the MWA offices along with all our HCMC committee have been working together over the last two days to seek a quick solution to this issue. We have had communications from the WASCC who are also putting in a lot of effort to find a solution to this situation.
Hopefully everyone can understand the very difficult situation the club has been placed in and this is the only course of action to take and is in the best interest of our members.
Best regards,
Rob Fry
